Michael is currently the Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety for Medtronic (Medical device manufacturer). He is responsible for the implementing the Global EHS strategy across the operations and commercial organizations, encompassing over 90,000 employees and 300 facilities. He also serves as a member of Medtronic’s Sustainability Steering Committee. Prior to joining Medtronic, Michael led the Global EHS&S program for Pactiv Evergreen, Hillrom Corporation and spent over 20 years with Baxter Healthcare Corporation in various roles culminating as the Global Director of Industrial Hygiene.
Michael has 25 years of EHS experience including industrial hygiene, radiation safety, pharmaceutical safety, EHS management system implementation, auditing and safety culture change with positive value system creation. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Illinois and a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Utah. His professional credentials include a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM). Michael was professionally recognized in 2012 with the AIHA Kusnetz Award for Outstanding Achievement by an Early Career Professional.
