As Director of Environmental Affairs at the United States Postal Service, Asif leads the development and implementation of policies and programs related to environmental compliance, regulatory reporting, audits, and risk mitigation strategies across all levels of the organization. The Postal Service has a very large environmental footprint with over 30,000 retail locations, a delivery fleet of 225,000 vehicles, 300+ vehicle maintenance and fueling locations, 400+ large processing and distribution centers, and a workforce of 600,000+ employees across the nation.
Asif has over 30 years of experience in corporate compliance, regulatory affairs, and sustainability initiatives. He also has extensive experience in developing and implementing successful and results oriented audits programs utilizing a management systems approach.
Prior to joining the Postal Service, Asif started his career in consulting, where he focused on environmental investigations and compliance projects at US military bases around the world. He has a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Management and Industrial Engineering. He is also a Professional Engineer (P.E.) specializing in environmental engineering. He has previously served on the Executive Board at Georgia Institute of Technology's Energy and Environmental Management Center.
Asif lives in Atlanta with his family and passionately follows international soccer (the real football) and cricket (the second most watched sport in the world).
