Martha Coopersmith-Gray is the Director of Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) and Sustainability and Product Stewardship (PS) for Amphenol CS, a business unit of Amphenol Corporation. Amphenol CS is an industry leader in backplane and board
to board interconnect. Martha has over 30 years of experience in the EHS&S and PS area. She started her career as a project manager for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) for Superfund Clean-Up Projects. She has worked
in senior level EH&S management positions in the electronics industry working for AT&T Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies, Agere Systems and now Amphenol CS.
She has managed the EH&S compliance and management systems programs
at over 100 global locations and was responsible for the development of manufacturing risk assessment criteria and auditing protocols for operations. Martha has audited internal business locations as well as suppliers. She has also performed facility
reviews for Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) programs that are being used by the electronics’ industry for compliance and conformance with the RBA codes.
Martha’s recent work has focused on the integration of product level
requirements into the business process. She has developed customized software programs for the management and reporting of material content along the supply chain to ensure that products meet regulatory and customer requirements.
Martha
has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst as well as completed course work in Business Administration at Pace University. In addition, she has attended the Yale University course entitled Sustainability
as a Strategic Business Enabler. She has her OSHA 1910 Certification as well.
