In this role, Salvadore provides strategic direction for Corning’s global occupational safety programs across all Corning operations worldwide. The 170-year-old company had achieved significant injury reductions prior him joining, and Salvadore was passionate about helping the company achieve the next level of safety excellence. Through three key principles…People, Process, and Systems…Salvadore charted a course to standardize the company’s safety program across of their 135 facilities globally and to get people home in the same or better condition than they were in when they came to work.
His strategic and data-driven approach to mitigate workplace injuries and illnesses resulted in a best ever safety record in 2023. Since 2017, Corning has achieved:
- 52% decrease in OSHA recordable injuries,
- 50% decrease in musculoskeletal sprains/strains, and
- 50% decrease in serious (lost workday) cases.
Before his role at Corning, Inc., he was the Global Health and Safety Director at Ingersoll Rand and held numerous senior leadership roles in GE.
Salvadore achieved a Bachelor of Science degree at The University of Vermont in Biology and Chemistry and is a trained Industrial Hygienist.
