Dan Paciello is a Health and Safety Manager with the New York Power Authority (NYPA). He has over 10 years of experience in the safety field, beginning his career as a safety professional in the U.S. Air Force. There, Dan learned the importance of leadership in integrating Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) efforts with overall organizational success, challenging conventional approaches to creating desired EH&S outcomes in the civilian world.
After his time in the Air Force, Dan took on key safety roles within the utility sector, serving as a Senior Safety Specialist for National Grid, one of the largest utilities in the Northeast. Currently, he is responsible for implementing and managing the Health and Safety Program at the NYS Canal Corporation, a subsidiary of NYPA.
Dan is also an active member of the Electric Power Research Institute's (EPRI) P62 Safety Committee and serves as the treasurer for the Central New York Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP). He holds a bachelor's degree in emergency management, associate degrees in occupational safety and aerospace propulsion, and the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) credential from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). Dan is currently pursuing his MBA through the State University of New York (SUNY).
