Mr. Rak is a senior manager with more than twenty years of experience guiding research to address complex federal regulation on environmental and sustainability issues. He is skilled at addressing multifaceted regulatory and legislative problems related to environmental sustainability. Mr. Rak currently serves as a subject matter expert with Toyota’s Sustainability and Regulatory Affairs Division. Previously, he managed a wide range of projects for the DoD and DHS related to carbon footprint calculation, GHG emissions, waste and water minimization, remediation, and energy. These projects range from the development of the DoD REACH Strategic Plan to the investigation of health effects for emerging chemicals, to homeland security R&D. For 14 years, Mr. Rak led Noblis’ efforts to support the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Sustainment), Chemical and Material Risk Management Program. He has authored several articles and peer-reviewed publications. He specializes in sustainability and risk analysis, with an emphasis on regulatory influences on material availability and supply chain impacts as well as developing risk mitigation measures.
