January 28, 2011  - Today NAEM announced the launch of its 2011 Management Information System (MIS) survey. The bi-annual survey of corporate environment, health and safety (EHS) and sustainability decision-makers provides a snapshot of the data management software category and helps practitioners benchmark their efforts against their peers.

"Managing data and metrics is one of the biggest challenges for EHS and sustainability leaders," said Carol Singer Neuvelt, Executive Director of NAEM. "This survey helps them compare their efforts, while identifying opportunities for improvement."

The survey also provides the insight corporate leaders need to make the business case for a data management software solution, Neuvelt said. "Companies are increasingly using software systems to track greenhouse gas emissions, maintain compliance and improve sustainability performance. A reliable software system is a critical tool for accomplishing these goals," she said.

NAEM began surveying its members in 2001 as part of its EHS MIS conference, the only venue where practitioners can view 12 user-led product demonstrations of the leading software systems. Attendees also have the opportunity to share best practices through brand-neutral education sessions focused on topics common to any user.

The 2011 event will take place in San Antonio, Texas at the Omni San Antonio Hotel at the Colonnade on March 2-3. Sponsors include Enablon, IHS, ProcessMAP, KMI, iEHS, e2Manage Tech, Intelex and SAP.
