Andrew Whitlock is an Industrial Sustainability Specialist for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office (IEDO). In his current role, he supports the Better Climate Challenge program, an initiative designed to help U.S. manufacturers save energy, reduce emissions, and improve sustainability through technical assistance, knowledge sharing, and recognizing market leadership.
Andrew has over 8 years of experience working in energy supporting government and non-profit energy organizations. Prior to joining IEDO, Andrew was a project manager for the Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E) program. Andrew also conducted research on industrial decarbonization at the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) and supported the Energy Information Administration's electricity survey operations.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Science and Technology from James Madison University, where he minored in Science, Technology, and Society. He is a Project Management Professional and Certified Energy Manager.
