Anne Marie has a long-held passion for health, rooted in her years of clinical experience with the acute and chronically ill. She recognizes the workplace as the ideal environment for improving health outcomes by increasing access to a full spectrum of evidence-based health offerings focused on prevention.
Since joining Genentech in 2000, Anne Marie has been on the forefront of building innovative, on-site programs and services that improve employees' health and well-being.
She leads high-performing teams of EHS professionals providing services that span the health continuum and serve 13,000+ employees working on campuses in South San Francisco, Portland, Dixon as well as the Field Force located remotely throughout the United States. As Associate Director of Health Services, Anne Marie is accountable for the Campus Health Center, Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene and Samples for Science programs.
Recently, Anne Marie led user teams to design and execute a 10,000-sf state-of-the-art Campus Health Center (CHC) to support new health services in one convenient location. Anne Marie has proven success influencing executives to expand occupational health to bring new services on site such as primary care, physical medicine, nutrition, and EAP. Employees now have access to the services necessary to make lasting lifestyle changes to improve their health in all facets of life. Her efforts increased utilization of the CHC by 200% in the first year with over 45,000 employee visits since opening in 2017. Anne Marie was recognized in PwC Health Research Institute's June 2019 Annual Report for identifying and creating new "best practices" in the field.
Anne Marie holds a Master's of Science Degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), specializing in Occupational and Environmental Health. She is a Registered Nurse and is board certified as a Nurse Practitioner, and as an Occupational Health Nurse Specialist.
