Curt Michols is Senior Principal Specialist for Global EHS & Energy with Abbott Laboratories. A senior leader with more than 29 years of global EHS management experience, Mr. Michols is responsible for the implementation, direction and continuous improvement of, Abbott’s Global EHS Due Diligence Program to identify and manage EHS liabilities during mergers, acquisitions and divestitures worldwide. He also provides direction to Abbott’s Global Remediation Program, and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to operating divisions and facilities for various other EHS programs and initiatives including EHS integration, compliance auditing, hazardous materials and waste management, communications and sustainable packaging.
Prior to joining Abbott in 2000, Mr. Michols worked for 16 years in environmental consulting, where he was responsible for a variety of EHS projects for clients in the public and private sectors.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Illinois State University; and, has completed various specialty EHS technical and management training, and presented and published on a variety of EHS topics, throughout his career.
