Diana Alvarez
Senior Occupational Health Manager

In her current position as Senior Occupational Health Manager, Ms. Alvarez is responsible for directing key workers' compensation and safety initiatives for Hyatt Hotels Corporation for the Central and Northeast Region. With her Nursing background and
extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of Occupational Health and Safety, she brings a strong focus to Hyatt's Workers' Compensation Claims Management from a medical treatment and financial aspect across a wide span of states.
Diana works through many lines of business within the organization including human resources and various areas of hotel operations throughout the United States to ensure compliance with federal and state OSHA rules in addition to many ongoing wellness and safety initiatives. In addition, in 2015 she took on the role of Chairperson for the newly formed Latino Diversity Business Resource Group that promotes Inclusion and Diversity in the workplace for all Hyatt Hotel Colleagues.
Prior to joining Hyatt in 2004, Ms. Alvarez utilized her Nursing skills in various settings that included an inpatient Oncology unit, managing a maternity clinic, Occupational Health Nurse for a candy manufacturing plant, medical office duties in a spine surgery practice and field case management for a large insurance carrier.
Diana is currently on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Self Insurers Association. In addition to an Executive Board role with the National Hispanic Corporate Council she previously held a governor appointed position with the Illinois Workers Comp Commission Medical Fee Advisory Board.
