Dr. Anthony Harris

Anthony Harris, M.D., M.B.A., M.P.H., joined WorkCare as an Associate Medical Director based in Chicago, IL, November 2017. He previously served as Medical Director of Community Occupational Medicine, LLC, a full-service occupational medicine provider
with seven locations and additional onsite operations throughout northern Indiana.
Dr. Harris is board-certified in occupational and environmental medicine. He brings broad clinical and corporate leadership experience, dynamic interpersonal skills and a solid track record of delivering novel solutions to meet industry occupational health needs to the WorkCare team. Since 2006, Dr. Harris has worked as an independent health care consultant with a focus on market research, product design and business development strategy.
Dr. Harris earned his Medical and Masters of Business Administration degrees from the Indiana University School of Medicine and Kelly School of Business. He obtained his Masters of Public Health degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He has deep clinical experience, including two years of general surgery training. In addition, he obtained fellowship training in bio-design and innovation at the University of Missouri.
Dr. Harris has co-invented medical devices and holds several U.S. and international patents. In 2010, he accepted a two-year gubernatorial appointment to the Missouri Technology Corporation, a state board charged with promoting economic development in the high-tech and life sciences sectors. He serves on several boards, including the Medical Advisory Board for UL EHS Sustainability (a division of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.) and at the Lead Abatement Resource Center, Inc. (LARC), a not-for-profit organization focused on soil lead remediation and public awareness. His accomplishments also include co-founder and interim CEO of two medical device start-ups.
Dr. Harris considers himself an innovator driven by the desire to blend clinical skills with his entrepreneurial ambition to solve problems and improve the occupational health landscape. “WorkCare has a proven track record for doing this well. That is why I joined the WorkCare team,” he said.
