Erik Petrovskis is Director of Environmental Compliance and Sustainability at Meijer, a leading Supercenter located in six states throughout the Midwest. Erik has 20 years of experience as an environmental consultant. At Meijer, Erik is responsible for due diligence, remediation, compliance, and environmental sustainability, with particular focus on stormwater and food waste management. His team has developed an environmental compliance management system conformant to ISO 19600, covering the activities of over 230 stores, five distribution complexes, six food manufacturing plants, and two central pharmacies.
He holds a PhD in environmental engineering from The University of Michigan and is a licensed Professional Engineer. He also served as a Lecturer at the University of Michigan, teaching water and wastewater engineering, as well as sustainable engineering principles. Recently, he was a member of a National Research Council Committee on Scientific Tools and Approaches for Sustainability for the US EPA.
