Helen Pappas, CHMM, ENV SP, serves as a Northeast Team Leader of Environmental Compliance and Remediation in the Earth Sciences Business Line for Gannett Fleming, a multidisciplinary global engineering firm with more than 60 offices worldwide. In this role, she oversees a team of 10 people serving dozens of clients in NJ, NY, PA, MD, VA, DC, and others across the country. Helen is a project manager and specializes in multimedia site investigations, remediation planning, storm water management, and bulk storage programs. She also provides environmental risk identification and mitigation for infrastructure design projects, construction support services, and quality assurance and quality control oversight. She has successfully led projects for federal, state, and local governments as well as the private sector, preparing site-specific work plans involving multimedia sampling activities.
Helen won Gannett Fleming’s inaugural Smart Cities Innovation Challenge in 2017, identifying a true market need and designing a solution that has the potential to disrupt the real estate industry’s approach to environmental risk assessment, valuation, and remediation for residential properties. She earned a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Temple University and an M.S. in Environmental Protection and Safety Management from Saint Joseph's University.
