Marie Gargas
Marie leads industry association activities to advance the environmental, occupational health and safety, and product stewardship priorities of its members. She serves as the Plastics Industry Association’s (PLASTICS’) senior technical director of regulatory affairs, supporting EHS and product stewardship advocacy at the federal level.
Marie especially enjoys working with members on sharing their companies’ practices to support continual improvement in EHS and product stewardship performance. Her more than 20 years of experience also includes leading projects and programs on chemical testing, analytical method development, process safety, safety statistics, compliance assistance training, and the publication of regulatory and technical resources.
She embraces EHS as a critical component of sustainability and encourages the development of future EHS and product stewardship leaders. Marie earned a BS in Chemistry and MS in Environmental Science. Her favorite part-time job was at an indoor rock climbing gym, and she appreciates the role plastics play in her outdoor adventures.
