Melissa serves as Director of Corporate Sustainability at American Electric Power. She brings 15 years of industry experience in sustainability and ESG reporting, performance and strategy.
Melissa is responsible for AEP's sustainability reporting efforts and ESG disclosure strategy. This includes monitoring emerging risks and opportunities and implementing standardized processes and controls for data accuracy and efficiency. Her primary responsibilities include developing AEP’s sustainability report; managing AEP’s response to investor, customer and supplier surveys; monitoring and managing ESG regulations, ratings and rankings; tracking ESG performance and goals; developing and implementing company policies; and conducting ESG materiality assessments.
Melissa has a degree in Strategic Communications from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Ohio University. She lives in Columbus, Ohio with her husband, three daughters and Labrador retriever, Otis.
