Nicole Tanner
Senior Specialist, Water Stewardship

Nicole is a water stewardship specialist with WWF-US’s freshwater program. For the last decade, her work has focused on the improvement of watershed health by building water stewardship capacity, understanding watershed risk and stakeholder impact;
primarily focusing on the private sector’s role in a watershed. Nicole works with multi-national companies including McDonald’s, Ecolab, Olam and Hilton and other multinational companies to create meaningful water policies leading to collaboration
on the field level. Her work leverages previous experience with the Alliance for Water Stewardship Standard, commodity standards, ISEAL, social development policy and implementation, crop and livestock water risk analyses to drive impact in the watersheds
WWF works to protect. Nicole holds an MA in International Development and a certificate in Conflict Resolution from the Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver, and a BS in Political Science and International Relations from
Elmira College.
