Richard Budge is a Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) professional and consultant with over 20 years of experience.  Richard is the President and Founder of Lakeside Risk Management and has provided safety and environmental consulting services to clients in various industrial sectors and has performed hundreds of EHS impact assessments, compliance audits, management system audits, incident investigations and process design reviews.

Mr. Budge is also the former Vice President, Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) with SNC-Lavalin Inc. where he was responsible for the development and implementation of an integrated HSSE management system using risk based and behaviour based principles.  Mr. Budge was also responsible for ensuring EHS regulatory compliance of global operations and the safety and protection of employees working around the world.  SNC-Lavalin is one of the leading engineering and construction groups in the world and a major player in the ownership and operation of infrastructure with offices in over 50 countries.

Prior to joining SNC-Lavalin, Richard was the Director of HSSE with the Royal Canadian Mint for 11 years and was responsible for the protection of more than $9 billion in precious metals and ensuring operational compliance with EHS regulatory requirements including the design and operation of engineering controls for safety and environmental abatement.  The Royal Canadian Mint operates one of the largest and most technically advanced gold and silver refineries in the world and is also responsible for the manufacturing of domestic and foreign currency producing more than 52 billion circulation coins for over 30 countries. 

Richard is a licensed professional environmental engineer and holds a Juris Doctor degree with a specialization in environmental, safety and employment law.
