Robert Gilbertsen, P.E., BCEE, CPEA, has more than 30 years of experience in environmental health and safety (EHS) management, and has personally conducted 500 EHS compliance and management-system audits worldwide. As a Program Manager, Robert has organized
over 1,200 EHS compliance and management-system audits worldwide. Robert’s technical background includes the design and implementation of EHS management systems, EHS compliance auditing and implementation of corrective action. His auditing experience
includes work for foundries, steel mills, chemical and pharmaceutical plants, airlines and cruise lines, general manufacturing, aerospace manufacturing, upstream-midstream-downstream petroleum and oil recycling facilities, natural gas compressor stations,
power plants, compressed-gas vendors, breweries. Robert currently serves as the chairman of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers’ Examination Committee and formerly chaired the Hazardous Waste Management Committee. He serves as co-chair
of IIA EHS Audit Center's (former Auditing Roundtable’s) Chicago meetings. At the EHS Audit Center Bob organizes and leads twice-yearly, day-long seminars to spread best practices in EH&S auditing.
