Susan Roche Hendrix is the Senior Manager of Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality Management Systems for Fujifilm Manufacturing USA, Inc. in Greenwood, SC, where she is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of an integrated environmental, safety, health and quality management system.
Mrs. Hendrix has over 30 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and has been with Fujifilm since 1991. In 2009, Ms. Hendrix assumed responsibility for the Health and Safety department, and in 2017 assumed responsibility for the Environmental and Regulatory department. She has led the efforts in improving the Safety Culture by leveraging her background in Quality Assurance with a strong emphasis in problem solving and continual improvement. She helped develop and implement an improvement methodology which integrates Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen and Fujifilm internal methods into an overall business improvement strategy, and develops and delivers training programs to help support this strategy.
Since 2014, she has been involved in developing and implementing the Fujifilm FIT program that integrates Associate's wellness with safety for total Associate health. The CDC Healthy Worksite and Total Worker Health program have been used as guides in developing and implementing this program. It has been so successful in improving Associate's health, reducing the company's health care costs, and improving morale that it is being rolled out to all Fujifilm companies in North America.
She is an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and a PathWise Analytical Problem Solving Certified Trainer. She has a degree in Electronic Engineering from Piedmont Technical College, a degree in Organizational Management from Newberry College, is a member of the Newberry College Bachman Honor Society and is on the Newberry College Alumni Association Board of Managers.
She is a native of Newberry County and resides in Newberry with her husband of 35 years. She has three sons and four granddaughters and is a member of St. Marks Catholic Church.
