Intel’s Chief Sustainability Officer Todd Brady Receives NAEM’s Lifetime Achievement Award
CLEVELAND, OH, Oct. 25, 2023 — Today, the National Association for Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Management (NAEM) honored Todd Brady, Chief Sustainability Officer and Vice President, Global Public Affairs for Intel Corporation with NAEM's 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award.
“Todd’s ability to successfully inspire corporate sustainability action and investments at Intel has resulted in positive, game-changing impacts that have transformed his company’s environmental footprint, and led the way for his industry and our profession,” said NAEM Executive Director Carol Singer Neuvelt.
Mr. Brady was one of twenty-two EHS and Sustainability leaders recognized at NAEM’s Excellence Awards ceremony, which took place during NAEM’s 2023 Forum, the largest annual gathering for environment, health, and safety, and sustainability decision-makers.
“An example of a key accomplishment under Todd’s leadership is Intel’s progress in climate change commitments — reducing greenhouse gas emissions by more than 60% in 2012 (from 2007) and avoiding more than 80% of our Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions in the last 10 years alone,” wrote Fawn Bergen, Corporate Sustainability Manager at Intel, who nominated Mr. Brady for the honor. “These were accomplished during periods of significant growth at Intel (more than 3x increase in manufacturing output and complexity) and represent absolute reductions in emissions (i.e., not by purchasing carbon offsets).”
In letters of recommendation that accompanied Mr. Brady’s nomination, both Intel and industry colleagues offered resounding support.
“His ability to shape environmental programs, influence organizations, and gain executive-level support to set and achieve ambitious environmental goals, is remarkable,” wrote Richard A. Riley, Principal Engineer at Intel. “Todd leverages his outstanding leadership skills and strategic thinking to position Intel as an environmental leader through innovation, collaboration, problem solving and mentorship.”
“Intel’s long-standing reputation as one of the leaders in corporate sustainability is due to Todd Brady,” wrote Marissa Yao, Senior Director, Supply Chain Responsibility at Google. “He has been core to Intel’s sustainability efforts since it formed one of the tech industry’s first Sustainable Development organizations in 2003. Thank you, Todd, for your leadership and numerous contributions. The future of corporate sustainability depends on leaders like you at the helm.”
